This weekend i took my good lady wife down the coast a little to spend a wonderful few days in Bournemouth, where we enjoyed the blessing of the Gods with plenty of warm sunshine, good food and -surely it goes without saying- excellent company.
We wandered hand-in-hand along the promenade, the pier, the sands, through the park and amongst the shops, all at our leisure and in our own time...it was fantastic.
Our hotel was wonderful and the owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendly whilst the local womenfolk seemed very well-groomed, fashionable and attractive, all very easy on the eye indeed, although you understand that i only had eyes for my beloved, naturally.
We just had to visit Chez Fred, (past winners of the Best Fish'n'Chip Shop of Great Britain award); the food was delicious and it was easy to see why the place (or should that be plaice?) was so busy, attracting numerous stars of stage and screen over the years, not to mention former Prime Ministers!
We popped into The Body Shop where my wife purchased strawberry-scented soaps, body-butters, Lord-knows what else besides and, after showering, smelt good enough to eat...my very own strawberry-flavoured treat!
Spending time alone together was perfect bliss, we enjoyed every moment (apart from friday afternoon, which i'll save for a subsequent post) and we've promised ourselves that we'll definately return for a longer spell next summer...all-in-all, a simply amazing weekend.
A thoroughly well deserved break for you both, with time to re discover the taste of strawberries!!! I did not hear any mention of cream lol.
I am so glad you enjoyed one of my favourite parts of England and where I am hoping to move to as soon as I can.
