What a brilliant climax we saw to Big Brother 9 with the adorable Rachel Rice stunning us all (not least herself) by winning the show in style and most deservedly so, i may say.

I've been an avid supporter of hers since the opening night and have never failed to be impressed by her humility, honesty and warmth which makes a very refreshing change to the over-the-top wannabes who normally inhabit the BB house...Rachel has been a real breath of fresh air and living proof that you don't have to be nasty to succeed in life.

I had expected her to leave gracefully in third or fourth place...surely she was too quiet, too nice and too sweet to be crowned the winner?

Apart from her moment of totally unexpected victory, the finest sight of the evening was seeing the bullying and arrogant Rex evicted just as he was begininng to bask in the glory of anticipated triumph...finishing behind the two girls he picked on most often...and also his nemesis, Mikey, the blind man who didn't need his eyes to see straight through both Rex and his snotty girlfriend.

I was very pleased for Rachel and also happy with Sara's Top Three finish, they've both been brilliant housemates and have ended up with the last laugh over their more spiteful and self-obsessed commrades.

So, congratulations and very well done, Rachel...i conclude by repeating a couple of quotes from earlier posts:

Rachel has been my personal favourite from day one and although being severely criticised for being dull and boring, she has remained bright, dignified and kind-hearted throughout, a lovely girl who is the prettiest housemate this year and who happens to have the most gorgeous bottom in BB history.
