Recently published was a list of The Seven Wonders of the Modern World, which supposedly replaces their ancient predecessors, most of which have now either crumbled away over time or been bulldozed to make way for car-parks.
You may like to look up the new list but in the meantime i offer you my own humble selection. These are all amazing places that should be lovingly gazed upon at least once in a lifetime; places where i would love to spend an hour or two in devoted contemplation and exploration, their splendour truly appreciated and honoured to the very depths of my soul.
