"He carried his childhood like a hurt warm bird held to his middle-aged breast"
Do i really have to go back to work in the morning? Do i?
I don't want to go to bed early, get up early, work all day on a sandwich, only use a pc for business purposes, pretend that the world and his dog aren't boring me to death or spend almost two hours behind the wheel for the privilege of it all.
I want to do a runner from the world, escape back into childhood and spend the day making myself sick on Count Dracula Ice-Lollies, Corona, Flying Saucers, Spangles, Bazooka Joe and Frazzles. A nice comic to stick my nose into would be good too.
I'll climb a tree and shout rude things at passers-by from my position of concealment amongst the foliage, forever giggling, kick a football through someone's front window then run like hell, or have a game of cowboys and indians.
"The things which the child loves remain in the domain of the heart until old age. The most beautiful thing in life is that our souls remaining over the places where we once enjoyed ourselves"
Instead of going to work tomorrow, just once, can't i stay at home and play with my Weebles?
I can be a grown-up another day.

Cor, weebles, they were awesome! Never could get the little bastards to stay down. Why not just take them into work with you?
